The Official Gen Con 2007 Devil's Keep News Page

Shamelessly stealing this idea from the Kentucky Fried Gamers, I thought I'd post a little bit about the Crusaders of the Holy Lands game I'm running at Gen Con 2007, known as "Devil's Keep." This page provides just a little bit of background information on some of the characters involved in the adventure. The information on the characters below is the basic information known to all of the players. The idea is that you get to learn a little bit about the different people and the setting involved ahead of time. The goal of the demo game at Gen Con is to learn as much as you can about the game and setting in one sitting. Just like the game description reads, the characters are traveling in a small caravan to the southern most Crusader border. While things have been peaceful for many years, dark rumors have spread of coming danger. If you'd like to learn more about the game itself  click here!

Evarestis Sidonius Byzantine Evarestis is a Byzantine scholar traveling to meet a friend at the Templar Keep. His friend is Christoph Larouque, the Priest at the Keep. Christoph reports discovering some ruins near the Keep and has requested his old friend Evarestis to join him.

Sir Richard Bester England Sir Richard is a Knight Templar. He has been reassigned to service at the Keep in south Jerusalem. He has agreed to assist with the travel of some companions.

Alia Norman Alia is a warrior nun or battlesister. Her calling is to travel the Holy Land doing The Lord’s work.

Matthias Nachtmann Saxony Matthias is a merchant seeking a new, safer trade route to India. His main trade is sandalwood.

Ragenard de Villeroi Norman Ragenard is a Crusader of renowned strength and fighting ability. He is considered a good and faithful traveling companion.

Dorin Lacatusul Armenia Seeking work as a guard of the Crusade. Hopeful that the Keep may require an extra hand.

Ralph England Ralph the Hermit was called by The Lord in a vision to travel south to battle a Great Evil. He is traveling with a small group to shield them from the Great Evil. Click here to see Ralph's character sheet!

Juliana Kalamanos Byzantine Juliana is a young Byzantine Scholar traveling with the small group that is heading south to the border in Jerusalem. This is her first field trip.

Burgwulf Ackmann Saxon Burgwulf is traveling south with your small group. A gruff young man seeking fortune or fame.

Cateline de la Mor Norman Cateline is a young warrior woman traveling south with your small group. She is a Christian seeking service for The Lord.

Silvia Skleros Byzantine Silvia is a Byzantine merchant’s wife and business partner traveling south to meet her spouse to negotiate a lucrative deal.
