I
do use dice at my games. If I run the game with no dice
and disregard the characters abilities than a newbie would
not get an ideal of how the game mechanics work. If you're
an anti-dice freak, then look for someone else to entertain
you.
Also, I
find it ironic that seasoned players will signup and play
the same game system that they are already familiar with.
The main purpose of running games at GenCon is to introduce
new players to a gaming system.
My
Cthulu games are based out of Indiana University, an established
place of learning, which is surrounded by myths and legends
that echo their eerie cries in the ancient hardwood forests
and vast unexplored limestone caverns.

I
believe the works of H. Rider Haggard influenced Lovecraft. If you get
a chance pick up his work and enjoy! Author of noted stores such as 'Cleopatra',
'King Solomon's Mines', and 'Allan Quatermain'.
"That which is alive hath known death,
and that which is dead yet can never die, for in the Circle of the Spirit
life is naught and death is naught. Yea, all things live forever, though
at times they sleep and are forgotten."
'She' by H. Rider Haggard released in 1887

Ever
present are the old ones, as they cast their spell in the form of the
hallowed fog that seeps out of the land and mystifies Indiana’s
landscape just before the brink of dawn, as a reminder of the primeval
swamps, which existed before the white man drained the stagnant water
from the land.
However, the evil remains, and hauntings become modern legends. The House
of Blue Lights and the Screaming Bridge are just a preview of the return
to the old ways. Every year the Cicada and Starlings emerge to sing the
song of the old ones in a cacophony of sound. If one would listen intently,
he would hear the subtle warning to the current inhabitants, which are
on the brink of insanity.
Influences of the old ones may be found amongst the gnawed and broken
human remains scattered beneath the grounds of Central State Insane Asylum.
Where else does the presence of ancient evil dwell? Would you dare to
intrude upon the domain of the old one’s to discover the secrets
of Indiana’s past?
The
Indians feared and avoided the land that makes up the heart of Indiana,
where the city of Indianapolis has replaced the forsaken swamps. What
evil lurked in the swamps that the Indians so feared? When this land was
first being explored by the French and English, many explorers vanished
without a trace from the dark forests. Was it because of Indians or something
more sinister? |

Age: 39
Occupation: Website and Software Developer
Degree: Purdue Graduate, Bachelors of Science
In grade school, I spent many hours of my misspent youth exploring the
vast and beautiful central library, hungry for knowledge of forbidden
lore, ancient kingdoms and mystical tales. One day while exploring the
horror section, I chanced upon a Lovecraft book. I was blown away by his
style of writing and the descriptive stories. Stephen King absolutely
sucked next to Lovecraft. I have never read a King book since that day
and based on the movies I made the correct choice. Shortly after discovering
Lovecraft, I was elated when the Cthulu role-playing game was released
in 1981. What a pleasure it was to play a game based on the works from
a writer that I truly enjoyed!
I have been gaming for twenty-three years. Below are lists of the games
systems I have ran or participated in:
Dungeons & Dragons
Chill
Vampire the Masquerade
Werewolf
Mage the Ascension
Cthulu
